A week before our vacation to Europe I received an email from a friend. She asked if I could paint something for her husband for their anniversary. I love when I get the opportunity to be involved in these type of surprises. (It's such a clever gift idea;) She emailed me a picture of his favorite painting which happened to be by Van Gogh. Gulp! I sat there for a few seconds staring at the picture trying to figure out if I could do this or not. Were talking about Van Gogh one of the most famous and incredible painters in modern art! So yeah I was a little intimindated. She didn't want an exact replica of the painting but from that painting she wanted me to create it with my own technique and style. I was ready to take on the challenge! I was actually surprised how quick it took me! :)

Bye bye Summer~
I can't believe Fall has arrived already. I LOVE Fall but I don't look forward to what's after that. Summer ended to quickly:( It was a busy yet very memorable summer for my husband and I. We spent three whole weeks in Italy & France. It was a trip that we had been talking about probably since we got married. Seven years later we finally made it happen:) It was defiantly a trip of a lifetime! My summer flew by and I had little time to paint but I still managed to sale a few custom paintings:)
I started this one in August hoping to complete it before our trip but you know....

It fits perfectly in my studio but I have to give it to it's owner:) Oh' darn;)
Almost done!
This is another custom painting that I sold in June. I'm not a huge dragon fan but I had fun painting this piece. Pretty interesting creatures:)

Sketching the dragon~
I've been having a little fun with this painting. I've been able to use some of my texture paste for this piece which I haven't been able to use in a while. I was able to get the dragon painted this weekend. I included a few pictures of the sketches. Now this week I plan on working on the details and the background:)

Feeling Refreshed~
I just wanted to take a few moments and let everyone know what I've been up to. I have been really busy since Nov. The orders are just coming:) I'm still trying to balance my full time job and painting at the same time. We all know that being a full time artist doesn't always pay the bills. Maybe someday it will:) I decided a few weeks ago that I should take a few weeks off from creating and painting and just have a little "me time" in the evenings and weekends. It was defiantly needed. In the mean time I received four more orders.
Baby Birdy~
This painting was designed for a precious little baby girls nursery. I wanted this piece to be a little modern and clean. I choice a soft yellow for the background and a vibrant yellow and green for the leaves to make them pop out. I wanted the little birdy to be cute and fluffy with a little rosy belly.

Baby girl~
I started on the next customized painting late last week. This piece will be in a baby girls nursery.
It's coming along and looks like I should be able to complete it pretty soon. I've been taking pictures of the stages but won't post pictures till it's all complete:)

Glowing Peacock~
I just finished another customized painting. I had fun with this one. I was able to use some of my favorite colors. I was really excited to see what it was going to turn out like. I still have to coat it with a varnish and scan it but I couldn't wait to post some pictures to share with you all.
Here are a few stages of the project.
My pup is giving me her puppy eyes. I think she wants me to take a break.
